Looks like it will be a hot and windy one tomorrow. I want to address a few questions that have come up about the ride.
Does it cost anything? No
If you want to donate something please go to fatcyclist.com and donate to his latest contest. You may win some awesome prizes and the money goes to livestrong. His 100 miles of nowhere was the inspiration for this ride.
What time does it start? Whenever you want. I will be starting around 9. If you are riding the full 10 laps I would recommend you start early. If you would like to start with a group you are welcome to start from our house at 2425 East Shore Lane.
Is this a race? No just a ride with friends. Are there prizes? There may be prizes for individuals that do 10 laps and maybe even teams but nothing is in stone. Consider it a fun day on your bike.
Will there be support? Yes and no. We will have some water and fruit as well as energy bars or similar available just inside the back gate of our property. I also have extra wheels, tires, tubes for various size bikes and there may or may not be someone around to assist with changing tires or bike adjustments. The Bike Barn in town opens at noon if you are having problems that is probably your best bet. If you need something fixed before tomorrow there is a nice bike shop in Plymouth.
How do I record my laps? Just post a comment here or on the Facebook event page. We are on the honor system. Let us know who rode and how many laps.
What is the route? There are many ways to ride around the lake, take any road or path you would like just no boats or and other motorized vehicles allowed. Go any direction you would like. I may adjust my direction according to the wind.
Can we ride as a group? Sure. Ride together or make it a relay race. You are welcome to ride with my group but our pace may be too fast or to slow for you depending on how many laps you are doing.
More questions? Post a comment here and I will answer any I can. After 9am tomorrow I will be out riding for the next 6 hours and unavailable. Please remember to eat and drink enough before and during the ride.
Now that we have quite a few people I would love to hit a goal of 100 combined laps. If you can do more laps than give it a shot. If you know someone else drag them along.
If it rains don’t worry about it a little water just make the journey and the stories more epic.
After you have completed your ride stop by our house at 2425 East Shore Lane around 5 on our patio and drop off your team scores, have a gatorade or a beer and brag about your top speed, fantastic pull or number of stops you made.
Stay safe and I will see you out there!
